Mixed Mess

That is the best way to describe my emotions today.  I am a MIXED MESS!!!  Today is my last day working outside the home.  I am excited, sad, nauseous, scared, nervous, etc........

I never expected to feel this way - it just hit me - BAM!!!!!!  I am not at all questioning my decision to stay home but I will MISS my AMAZING JOB and THE WONDERFUL PEOPLE I work with!!!

Bellie Did Great!!!

We have such a tough little girl - We are so proud!!  She did so well today!!!  The most important news - Her retina is perfect!!!!  YAY~~~~

So she will have cataract surgery and with the new implant she should be able to see just fine!!!  GOD IS GOOD!!!!  Thank you for the PRAYERS!!!!!

Bellie's Eye Procedure Tomorrow

Belle is scheduled for her eye procedure tomorrow - Please send up an extra prayer for her!!  I don't know why I am so nervous BUT I AM!!!!

World Down Syndrome Day 2011

Happy World Down Syndrome Day!!!!!

I am so PROUD to be a Mom of a little girl BLESSED with an extra chromosome!!!  So Proud!!!!

I am also so PROUD to be Friends with a Family also BLESSED with a little girl rocking an extra chromosome!!  Wow - it's so hard to type this because I just cry but here we go!!  Sarah Basile blogged her adoption journey and I read it faithfully.  Reading her journey gave our family the strength to take the same leap of Faith!!  I would not be the Mom of Belle if it wasn't for this FAMILY!!!  That is a fact!!  I can't even imagine life with out Belle - so can you imagine how grateful I am to the Basile Family????  Oh my!!!  And then we are BLESSED to live only 45 minutes from them - WOW - GOD is Good!!!!  So Belle, Sara and I went to visit them on Saturday.  I wish I could explain what it felt like to watch Sarah and Shawn hold Bellie!!!  I just think about it and my eyes well up.  Not everyone that will hold Belle will LOVE her instantly like these two did.  Some people are just not comfortable and I have witnessed this a few times.  So to see two people in one day, scoop up your daughter and hold & hug her with such intense LOVE is something I will treasure FOREVER!!!!  I mean just look at this:

Oh My Goodness!!!  GOD had a plan that these sweet girls would be FRIENDS!!!!  They were both born in Ukraine, given up at birth by their birth parents because of two words;  Down syndrome!!!  Zoya's adoption inspired Belle's adoption and now here these two girls are together!!!!!  WOW!!!  Can you deny the POWER?????  It's one thing to hear about Miracles - but to actually witness a MIRACLE - well, again I have no words!!! 

Down syndrome has Blessed me in so many ways with new Friendships too.  Christina from Switzerland is the BESTEST FRIEND I could ever ask for.  I honestly believe we share the same HEART!!  She has been so supportive in every way possible.  I have said it a million times and I will keep saying it - she is a real life ANGEL!!!!!  Can you see the halo?????

And then there is Molly!!  I have been friends with Molly for about 9 years.  But since bringing Belle home our frienship has grown so strong.  Molly is one of those people that just "get's it"!!  She is also one of those people that will drop everything to HELP!!  Molly came over last night to make buttons for World Down Syndrome Day.  She bought the supplies and made arrangements to borrow a button making machine.   I had pictures printed of Belle and Noah and we traced, cut and assembled.  It was so FUN!!!  I wish I had taken a picture of the button making crew (Molly and her daughter Amber, son Mikael, Taylor, Sara, Me and Belle) but I of course forgot.  Molly is a teacher and collected a dollar from fellow teachers to dress down today for World Down Syndrome Day and each person will also wear a button!!!  The donations will all go to Noah's Family!!!   Here are the buttons:

Molly is also having a purse and pampered chef party and all the donations will go to Reece's Rainbow!!!  See what I mean????  She so "get's it"!!!!  I am so BLESSED to have her as a FRIEND!!!!!  Love you Molly!!!!!

And then there is all of YOU!!!  All of YOU that send me e/m's and leave the sweetest comments on this blog!!!  WOW!!!!  I just LOVE all of YOU so much!!!!  Thank YOU!!!!

But the Little one that brought the Blessing of Down syndrome to our FAMILY is our Sweet Bellie!!!

The weather is Beautiful today in Jamestown, NY!  We were so lucky to go outside and play for a bit.  We took out some of the outside toys and just enjoyed the fresh air.  But even on a beautiful day like this I can't help but think of the sweet innocent children left in so many orphanages around the world.  I can NOT get sweet Carrington off my mind - I just can't.  That could of been our Belle.  Yes, Belle was very malnourished but no where as bad as precious Carrington.  I can't help myself from just squeezing Bellie and Thanking GOD that she is here and healthy.  We are so Blessed and I am so very GRATEFUL!!!!!!!! 

 Stephanie (who also adopted from the same orphanage) has a chip-in set up for the Burman Family!!  Please donate if able!!!  And Sarah (Zoya's Mom) has set up a blog with updates on Carrington's condition!! 

Look at sweet Belle in these pictures.  Just loving to be outside with her Family!!!  All children deserve the LOVE of a forever FAMILY!!!

GOD is calling - each and everyone of us!  In a Texas hospital right now is a Mom who answered.  GOD called her to bring Carrington home and Shelly Burman did.  Now she sits by the bed of this child she LOVES, Praying that her little frail body will not reject the treatments she is receiving.  Praying that she will SURVIVE!!!!  Looking at Carrington's skeleton frame is GOD's call to the rest of us.  Can you look at those pictures and say "Well, there isn't anything I can do"  or are you going to answer HIM and say : 


 "I am going to DO something!!!!!!"

This Beautiful, Beautiful Boy needs a FAMILY ASAP.  He is in urgent need of heart surgery!!!!  Please, Please spread the word - HELP ME FIND HIS MOM AND DAD!!!!!!  I so wanted to be his Mom - Oh my did I.  But it's just not the right time for our family and although it breaks my heart I know his family is out there waiting to LOVE him.  He is just way too precious and deserves a healthy heart to live an Amazing LIFE!!!!!!  Please Help Me!!!!  Please HELP TURNER!!!!!

The Power Of Adoption & Love!!!!!

YAY!!!!!

One of our pictures is on the home page of the Reece's Rainbow Website!!!!!  So super FUN!!!!!

I went to the meeting this morning for Isabelle's therapies.  We are going to have Speech at home, two times a week for 30 minutes each visit.  And we will go to one of the local schools twice a week for OT and PT!!!  I am so thrilled!!!!!  Bellie makes so much progress each day developmentally and now with all of these therapies she is going to SOAR!!!  WOW!!!!!  I am so grateful that our school district is so AWESOME to work with!!!!

And this was at 7 am this morning!!!!  These two just LOVE eachother so VERY MUCH!!!! 

We honestly thought Sara would have the hardest time adjusting to a new sibling since she was the youngest.  Boy were we so WRONG!!!!  I believe Sara Loved Belle before she even came to us.  It is as if GOD might of whispered to Sara that she had a very special sister that would join her one day.  And Sara just waited patiently for Belle to join our family!

It doesn't matter where we are Sara tells everyone "That's My Belt" (she still calls her "Belt").  Sara is so PROUD of her sister!!!  I can't help but get all emotional over the bond these two share because it is just so HEAVENLY!!!!! 

Sweet Noah

We had the absolute pleasure of seeing sweet Noah while visiting Bellie in the orphanage.  Noah is a beautiful little boy with a SMILE that I will never forget.

I am not sure I will ever be able to explain what it is like to see all the precious gems left behind in an orphanage.  I know for a fact my heart will never be the same.  BUT - it was so comforting to know that Noah had a family coming for him.  A wonderful family fighting to get him home!!!!  The Silva Family
