So close to HOME!!!

Happy New Year All!!!!

We are in the Detroit Airport - almost time to board our 5th flight!!  We have been traveling 36 hours and we are pretty ready to hug some kids at home.

For real, I feel like I could fly a plane now after all these flights - LOL!!

Bought our tickets to return - YAY!!!  We leave next Monday!  Taylor (our oldest) will be making the trip back with me.  I am so fortunate to be able to travel and experience everything again and to do it with my daughter - BLESSING FOR SURE!!!!  It all still just seems to good to be true!!

I sure am missing one sweet little girl, missing all those kisses and missing that laugh.  Isabelle is a diamond in the rough - no doubt!  Her birth parents did not want to meet us - I understand, it must be so difficult.  I wish I had the opportunity to tell them how very grateful we are to them.  My heart aches for them!!!!  We were told her birth father checks on her often by phone or by visit with the director.  They do not visit Isabelle as they told the director it is much too painful.  Isabelle also has 2 bio siblings.   We were told that no one has ever visited Isabelle in the orphanage.  :(

Thanks again for all the support!!!

Shawn - yes we are flying in to Erie! Please give Zoya kisses for us!!  And I hope you, Sarah and Zoya will always know how grateful we are to you for leading us to this perfect ANGEL!!!!  If it wasn't for your blogged journey - We wouldn't of started our journey and we wouldn't now be the parents of one perfect little girl - Miss. Isabelle!!!

Isn't she just the cutest sucking her little thumb?

  5. So glad to hear that you are almost home!! Happy New Year!! It makes me so sad to hear about her birth parents. What a horrible predicament to be in. To love your child but not feel that you can raise them. Just imagining how painful it would be for them to see her simply breaks my heart. Would you please stop making me cry!!! Now I will be waiting anxiously for you to get back there to get Isabelle once and for all!!

  6. Dear Summer, Dave & family,

Happy New Year to all of you! We hope you are home soon and getting lots of hugs and kisses. Praying that this New Year will be a happy and healthy one for all of us. I know it is hard to be away from Belle, but the week will go quickly and you will be back with her soon. I'm so glad that you and Taylor will be doing this trip together. Caleb had such an awesome experience and I'm sure Taylor will too.
    Love,
    Patty

  7. This new year will begin phenominally for your family. But it seems to me that Isabelle´s biological family loves her. I feel so sorry for them that they don´t want to visit her because it´d be too hurtful but it´s so obvious they truly care about her as her father calls often to check upon her. It´ll no doubt bring them greta healing to them to know that their precious child is loved and cherished and will grow up living a life of joy and possibilities.

Can´t wait for gotcha day! :)
