Would you be willing??????

Would you be willing to donate $12 for a pack of diapers for the children with special needs here?  A pack of size 4 diapers, quantity 68 is just a little over $12 here.  We have bought a few packs to donate but we really can't afford enough to make a good difference.  When we donated the ones we did buy the nanny's were so so so GRATEFUL!!!  Like we handed them GOLD!!!  You see most of the children with special needs are wet majority of the day.  I mean WET WET!!  From head to toe - soaked.  When we asked why the answer was very simple.

"We don't have enough supplies"

Even if we can keep the sweet children with special needs in this orphanage dry for a week or even 2 it makes a difference.  Maybe not as big of a difference as we would all like of course but big enough to let some of the diaper rashes heal.

So here is my idea, if you would be willing to donate to this chip in for diapers, I will purchase the diapers when I return here and deliver them myself.

So please consider helping keeping a sweet little treasure dry!!!!!!!

Thank you so very much!!!!!!

I whispered our plan to Lyla!!!  She Loved it!!!

  1. Is there a reason cloth diapers wouldn't work -- maybe they don't have washing facilities? That would be so much more useful long term.

    1. Cloth diapers are what they are using now. I have never used cloth diapers but I can tell you that they are not working in this case :(

    2. They used cloth in J's orphanage...only problem is they didn't use any "barrier" to keep the clothing dry. The cloth diaper was just stuck in under the clothes w/ no plastic to keep the moisture contained. :-( My impression was that the nannies didn't want to deal with the covers, esp ones with snaps, etc. (We donated some but I'm not sure they got used.) Poor kiddos! :-(

    3. Huh, yeah, if they won't use covers then the kids are going to be wet. :( They're obviously not getting changed enough, maybe they don't have enough cloth diapers? No tumble dryer so the diapers have a long turn around time?

I don't expect you guys to do it, but it might be worth trying to figure out why they're not changing the kids often enough -- lack of care, or lack of resources? The latter can be fixed by donating more cloth and teaching them how to use it, the former is much harder to fix :(

Thank you so much though for working so hard for these kids!

    1. Shelly, we did ask our translator and she didn't think they would use a cream from America. I could see if we could buy some here. They use the bright color medicine here on all ouchies including diaper rashes.

  4. That's too bad. I have about 10 tubes I could send you. We will send some money to the diaper fund though! Thank you for doing this Summer! I know when Jenny and I brought those diapers to Pleven and changed those precious little tushies it broke our hearts to know how wet those little ones were and how raw their tushies were.

  5. I contacted RR about having diapers to donate! They never got back to me but I have a couple hundred size 4 and 5. Please let me know if you are coming back to the states before your final adoption and I can send them to you to take
