So not good

This house is a sick mess!!  It is NOT GOOD!!!  The Stomach Virus has HIT and HIT BAD!!!!  I honestly don't have any idea how in the world I will get on a plane tomorrow feeling like this.  Not to mention leave all the kids when they are all sick.  UGH!!!!!!  Owen has been throwing up since Friday night, he seems to have it the worst.  My poor buddy.  He THANK GOD, seems better today.  Bellie threw up yesterday and woke up at 3 am with MASSIVE diarrhea - poor sweet girl.  I started not feeling well yesterday afternoon and didn't really leave my bed until just a few moments ago.  Dave started not feeling well this morning.  My sister started with it on Thursday started to feel better and then it hit her again last night.  Sara is talking with "sick voice" so it's only a matter of time.  Please Pray that everyone will be better soon so that we may leave tomorrow.   The big kids haven't been "hit" yet and this is such a huge BLESSING!!!  Praying they don't get it!!!

Well, that's whats going on in this house.  Toilette's flushing like crazy, lysol being sprayed in an insane manner, bedding being washed by the hour and little ones having tubs every 2 - 3 hours.  Poor sweet Owen keeps saying "I NEVER will Throw Up Again"!!!

Anyone have a secret remedy for a stomach flu speedy recovery????  If not, would you please PRAY that we will all miraculously return to decent health so we can get on the plane tomorrow?  I would be so very grateful!!!!  Thank you!!!!!

  2. oh no!!! The is my biggest fear. Tell your older ones to take D3. I was told this is the best way to increase your immune system so if it does hit it won't be so bad. Praying for you. Ask your dr if they will prescribe antinausea pills (the ones they give when a woman is pregnant) if you are still throwing up and need to get on the plane. I couldn't stop throwing up when I was pregnant from the flu and they had me take what they gave me in my first trimester when I was so sick. Didn't throw up once after I took it and was even able to drink water and eat crackers and keep it down. It would hopefully at least get you to country. Prayers and Hugs to you

  4. Oh man! White wine is a preventative, my husband swears by it. And honestly in 17 years I've never seen him throw up. Might be worth a sip or two for anyone still standing. But big BIG prayers for all of you that have been hit already. A miraculous recovery... please dear lord!!

See if you can get a prescription for zofran or promethazine. The latter is my personal preference and it will help you sleep.

  7. Have you heard of activated charcoal? It is excellent for nausea etc. I understand it is used in hospital emergency rooms for people who have bene poisoned as well -- it is excellent for food poisoning and stomach flu too. It comes in powder or capsules -- the capsules would be easy to take on the trip. (I do recommend drinking plenty of water with it if you can.) I would highly recommend it! You can find it at a health food store (be sure it's "activated").

I thought you might like more information (I'm not a doctor - but have heard and read great things about it - I have some at home in case I need it too) word for it so I looked up some info on the internet for you...

  8. Immodium if you are in "fast forward" - or, if you can't keep stuff down - there is something the doctor can prescribe that can be - er, um, taken via *another* orifice. . . Ahem. I was on a road trip with a flu-ish toddler once and that prescription got us home!

Definitely travel with the Immodium and some Pepto Bismol, because the jet lag and change in cuisine is likely to be tough on a sad tummy. Be sure you have chicken noodle soup packets and/or ramen and plain oatmeal packets to take along.

    Prayers!

  9. Our pediatrician gave our whole family a medicine called ondansetron that is a tablet that dissolves in your mouth. it stops the uncontrollable vomiting and we used it when we had to travel in the middle of a stomach bug. Works really well. You still feel weak and terrible but at least you are not throwing up every 5 minutes on a plane!

  10. Bentonite Clay. It works sort of like Charcoal. Binds up all the toxins and flushes them out. You can typically find it at health food stores.

Praying everyone is feeling better VERY soon and that the older kids are spared.

  12. Oh NO!!! Summer!!! I'm SOO sorry! Isn't it just like the evil one to hit like this - totally a low blow. God must have HUGELY IMPORTANT plans for Gavin's life! We were hit with this right before we left for E's trip, but not nearly as bad. Well, my mom slept on the bathroom floor the first night...so not good. Pat carried it with him. Surprised no one's mentioned it yet, but Cipro REALLY helped me get through a paper chase day this summer when something I ate made me very sick. (I wouldn't give it to the kids though.)
